Happy Thanksgiving

Image
One more Thanksgiving season is here. Thanksgiving is a time to remember all the blessings you have received and to be thankful. Thanksgiving should not be limited to a season of the year, but we should have a heart of gratitude every moment of our life. As Paul says to Thessalonians, we have to be Thankful in every situation of our life. As I look back, my heart is filled with joy and gratitude. His abundant mercy poured over me; His unconditional love amazes me every day. Being unworthy for His Mercy, He continues to forgive me and gives me new blessings every day. His blessings are countless that I have no words to thank Him. This year I thought, I will try to write down the blessings I am thankful for, although it is countless, I will try to name them one by one in alphabetical order.                                         A       Amazing Grace . Enjoy Your Gifts

Image
Are we  enjoying all the promises God has given to me. Is there times where we struggle to enjoy God's love and peace that He has given to us freely? Because we   try hard to keep others happy , and meet other's expectations, we often end up in despair and unhappiness. I read a story recently about how we keep missing our free gifts. Once when a man was cleaning his house , he found some unused gift cards that he got as gifts in different occasions. There were times when he struggled for money, but he never remembered about these gift cards. I feel like we are like this man who sometimes forgets to enjoy God's free gift of joy, peace and happiness in our life. How can we enjoy all our  given grace and mercy . Changing  mindset Most of the time our expectations are high. We expect things to be done in our way, easy way and quicker way. But most of the time God's plan is not the same. He has different purpose for your life. But easy or hard, whatever comes ...

A letter to My First Born

Image
💗💗Life  has always something new to teach us. Every day is a new lesson for us. This is the time of  celebration, a season to rejoice and  a proud moment in life. We are about to enter into a new chapter of    our lives. I can't believe my first born is graduating from high school. Your  12 years of hard work and  sleepless nights has  helped you  to graduate successfully from high school with good grades, top 3%   in the class of 2021. As I always say I am so proud of you, what you have achieved, and how you have   grown into a beautiful young lady both inside and out.  When I say I am proud of your victories, I  am also humbled  to see God's grace upon us.  I don't have any words to express my gratitude to my  lord and Savior. As we see, thousands of kids graduate from high school every year. From your  school    too, 900 plus students graduated this year. But for me it is not just a ...

Faith

Image
It’s been a while since I penned something here. Uncertainty and hopelessness are some of the emotions  I'm seeing and experiencing around me now a days. But past week God have been teaching me what is faith and its proper understanding through some eye opening experiences, some testimonies and above all speaking to me through HIS words. Most of the time we use Faith to console ourselves and hope that something is going to change according to our plan because we are praying and we have faith. Faith can be defined as ' complete trust or confidence in someone or something'. So even if something goes wrong, or happens against our plans, when we say we have FAITH in God , we should be able to accept it and be content with the situation since we have confidence and trust that God is in control. But I feel like most of the time, I do complain o...

20 Lessons from 20 years of Marriage

Image
We celebrated a milestone in our married life this month. 20 years ago, we started our journey together as a family. We started our love and life together. We didn’t have anything common, but God kept us together. Differences were our strength. We grew older together. Three countries, two continents, three kids, different jobs, different cultures, plenty of friends and relationships. It has not always been a smooth road, but God gave us strength to continue this adventurous trip by walking together. Life is a learning process and we learn new lessons every day. This is true with the marriages too. Here I am trying to share some of the lessons I learned during last 20 years. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying we are a perfect couple practicing all these lessons. All these are taught by Holy Spirit during this journey. Some of them we are still praying about, some are those we learned from our mistakes, some we are working on  while others are those I wish I had learned it way...

Perseveranvce

Image
“May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.”  2 Thessalonians 3:5 T his is a very meaningful wish or prayer of Paul the apostle for the fellow believers of Thessalonica. Here the emphasis is on Love and Perseverance. Love of God is the subject we always focus on and pray for the grace to experience it. We see God’s amazing love by the act of giving his only begotten son for us. But what is Perseverance and how Jesus’s Perseverance should impact our lives. The Word Perseverance has a deep meaning. It means “ continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition” The perseverance of Jesus was unexplainable. During the time when he got suffered on the cross, the blames he got from this world  and all the problems he faced while on earth, we can see his perseverance. As human beings we can’t even imagine how he went through all these sufferings. Still he never failed, he won the cross and attained his ...

Arrows as the Gifts from God

Image
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a mighty warrior are children born in one’s youth” Psalms 127: 3, 4. I have been reading a book called “Fearless Parenting” by Sarah Blount, who is a mother of five kids and is talking from her experience how to raise God fearing kids in this Ungodly world. While going through its pages I got stuck in this verse from Psalms 127 written by Solomon who is famous for his wisdom and wealth. Solomon is describing the offsprings as the rewards or gifts given by God. When we look at the meaning of the word 'Gift' in dictionary, it says ‘something given voluntarily without payment in return’ or an something that you give someone as a present. That means the actual owner of a gift is the one who gives it. The taste and choice of the person who receives the gift may be considered sometimes while we choose a gift, but more importantly it is the decision of the person who...
