“ Jesus came and stood among them and said, Peace be with you “ — John 20:19 These are the words Jesus said to his disciples when He first appeared to them after resurrection. The disciples were gathered behind locked doors. Fear had consumed them. Their hearts were troubled, their minds restless, and their future uncertain. The One they loved had been crucified. The world around them mocked their hope and silenced their faith. They felt abandoned, afraid, isolated, and lost. And then—Jesus came. Not after the storm ended. Not after they became strong again. Not after they figured everything out. He entered right into their fear, stood in the middle of their chaos, and spoke the very words their weary souls needed: “Peace be with you.” What is peace?
