A recap of 2025
A Year of Uncertainty, Unexpected, Unlearning, but Unending Grace
As we wrap up 2025 and are ready to welcome 2026, I want to reflect on how this year was to me.
This year was a season of unlearning. I unlearned reliance on my own strength, the need for constant approval, and the illusions I once held about what support and friendship should look like. It was a year that challenged my mind, stretched my heart, and tested my endurance. Yet, through it all, I experienced the grace and faithfulness of God in ways I had never known before.
There were seasons of confusion, loss, and disappointment. Circumstances shifted suddenly, familiar patterns broke apart, and the structures I relied on seemed to dissolve. It felt as though the ground beneath me was being rearranged, and I had no control over the timing or direction of the changes.
In moments like these, it was easy to feel discouraged or question the purpose of the struggle. But looking back, I see that what felt like collapse was actually construction, and what looked like endings were often necessary beginnings.
There were days when strength failed and words were few, but God’s presence never left. His grace became a quiet, steady companion—guiding, healing, and sustaining me step by step.
I was often labeled as someone with a strong personality who could handle anything. What others saw as confidence was, in truth, survival. What they interpreted as strength was often silence in the face of struggle. But God knew the battles behind the bravery, the hidden places of my heart, the weight I carried, and the tears no one saw. I didn’t shut people down; I was just trying to survive. They saw a strong exterior and assumed I was unbreakable, but God saw the fragile, weary places within me. What the world called strength was really grace, and what people mocked, God molded. And now, by His grace, I have the wisdom to step away from those who judge and center everything on themselves. God has taught me to protect my heart and walk with peace, not people-pleasing.
Through the people who were judgmental, selfish, and lacking compassion, I learned who I should not become. God used even those encounters as a process of shaping my character. Even through the coldness of others, He taught me warmth. Through selfishness, He taught me generosity. Through judgment, He taught me grace. Their behavior became a classroom, and the lessons they offered changed me.
I learned that God sometimes removes what we cling to in order to rebuild us on foundations that cannot be shaken.
I unlearned the idea that strength is only visible, and realized it is often formed in hidden places.
I discovered that healing is not instant, but a journey shaped by surrender.
More than anything, I realized that faith is not proven by how we feel when everything is easy, but by how we stand when nothing makes sense.
This year also revealed the quiet beauty of genuine people, unexpected kindness, and simple moments of support. Not because anyone fully understood my story, but because God knows what we need, when we need it, and whom to place in our path.
Even in seasons of stripping away, God was planting something new—deeper clarity, stronger conviction, healthier boundaries, and a renewed identity rooted not in approval, but in His love.
I enter this new chapter not as someone unchanged by the storm, but as someone transformed by it.
Not flawless, but refined.
Not unscarred, but strengthened.
Not defeated, but deeply aware of God’s goodness.
So, I close this year with gratitude—not because everything was easy, but because God was faithful through it all.
- He gave strength when I felt weak.
- Comfort when I felt empty.
- Guidance when I felt lost.
- Peace when I felt overwhelmed.
- Strength when I was isolated.
- Encouragement when I was left alone.
- Clarity when I was targeted.
And above all, He drew me closer to His heart.
I don’t know what the future holds, but I know the One who leads me forward with purpose.
I walk into the next season with a quiet confidence, trusting that every challenge was preparation, and every tear was a seed for growth.
To God who carried me, healed me, and rebuilt me—
thank You.
For every closed door, every new beginning, every lesson, every mercy, and every breath—
I am grateful.
